Kyle Cooper
Having created the film titles for the movie Seven and other blockbusters, Kyle believes that UMass Amherst taught him how to use his gifts.
My grandfather said to me when I was a kid, if you don't do something with your artistic talent, you're going to regret it for the rest of your life. Good graphic designers are thinking about how to be storytellers, and how to communicate things. I liked when I made a poster, or I drew something, I hang it on the wall. And I could try to get an emotional reaction. Do I want you to feel off-balance? Am I trying to get you all excited? Am I trying to scare you? Am I trying to make you laugh? At UMass everything was right there to give me this foundation to do the things that I'm doing now. They were investing in me, trying to teach me how to see the form, how to take the time and really look at things. You can get a world-class education at UMass. They help you understand what your gifts are, and then point you in the direction for you to excel. My UMass education means an incredible amount. They believed in me. Now I'm doing what I was created to do. My name is Kyle Cooper. I'm a film title designer. I stand for creativity at the highest level. And I stand for UMass.
