When I was in high school, I really didn't know exactly what I wanted to study when I got into college. So I said, UMass is probably the best place for me to go to. Because if I go there, I could figure out what I want to do once I get there, because there's so many different options of majors and tracts that you could focus on. Once I decided on business, and finance in particular, I actually was able to apply into the Isenberg School. Next year, I've been given the opportunity to work with IBM GBS, which is IBM's consulting division. And I actually was able to learn about this position and this company through Isenberg. They had an info session. Through that info session, they invited me to attend an interview weekend. Basically, if it wasn't for UMass and the Isenberg School, I wouldn't have had the position. Currently, I'm president of the Student Government Association. I've been involved since my freshman year. The Student Government Association really is the one that's in charge of all student clubs. We are the ones that approve new clubs. We fund existing clubs. I get tremendous amounts of emails and contacts from students asking about different initiatives that they're interested in us pursuing on their behalf. Also different policies that the University may have implemented, they have questions about. So I guess, fundamentally, that's the reason why I decided to run-- to really make the student government more accessible and more connected to every student here on campus. What makes me proud about UMass is the fact that this campus was created for the people, by the people. When you come here, you have the world at your fingertips. My name is Anthony Vitale, class of 2018. I stand for student involvement, and I stand for UMass.
